CPUT ELECTIONS · QUICK GUIDE

Nominate through an organisation

Prepare the CSRC pool with your authorised representative account.

How it works

5 simple steps
  1. Check recognition

Confirm that your organisation meets the recognition period and election requirements. The current rules require at least six months’ recognition.

  2. Prepare your nominee pool

Use the SRC organisation workspace to nominate candidate accounts or invite a new nominee using their @mycput.ac.za student email. Follow the configured pool limit, up to 16 candidates, and use each pool position once.

  3. Ask each candidate to accept

Existing nominees sign in to accept and complete their evidence. New nominees follow their email invitation, complete the form and verify their email to create their account.

  4. Review progress

Check the pool statuses, resolve missing information and submit each completed nomination before the cutoff.

  5. Follow official publication

Wait for screening, vetting and the EC decision. Adding a nominee to the pool does not publish or approve them.

Good to know

An administrator must assign you to the recognised organisation. SRC membership alone does not grant representative permissions.

Your next step

Representatives cannot inspect candidates’ private supporting documents. Follow the authorised submission instructions for the election.
