Liyabona

LHC and Welfare Officer

Hi everyone! My name is Liyabona Langwe, and I am a first-year student at CPUT running for LHC and Welfare Officer. I believe that leadership begins with listening, understanding and showing up for others. Sometimes, what a student needs most is not someone with all the answers, but someone willing to listen, take their concerns seriously and help them find a way forward. That is the kind of leader I aspire to be. My goal is to help foster a residence environment where every student feels safe, valued, included and comfortable speaking up. I am committed to approaching students with empathy, treating their concerns with respect and working towards practical solutions. I may still be growing as a leader, but I am ready to learn, serve and make a meaningful difference. Because student welfare is not just a responsibility; it is about people, and every person matters.
